MARTHA CRAWFORD

Martha Crawford splits her creative time between freelance graphic design and tactile mixed media, both of which overlap and inform the other. She received a BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design/RISD and went on to study Production Design in the Masters program at the American Film Institute. She worked as both staff and contract designer for major California Museums including the De Young Museum, Fowler Museum at UCLA, Hammer, and Norton Simon Museum. Her ongoing freelance Editorial Illustrations have been featured in National publications including LA Times, Utne Reader, The Nation, and Wired Magazine. She converted her 1000 sq. ft. garage into the 'Backyard Gallery' in LA where she curated group shows and held workshops in her studio. A project she hopes to duplicate in Anderson Valley.

Martha Crawford lives with her partner, Stephen and their rescue pup in their new home in Boonville.
